Animation

Animation has always been a very big, very VERY important part of my life. It's what's made me such a geek, the first thing I was really into! I even wanted to be an animator. Anime and Manga (Japanese animation and comics) were the next step in my animation-obsession, and exposed me to new culture (I've even been slowly learning the language). And now I write reviews for animaton (among other things) professionally.

Toons (I miss my Saturday mornings)

www.cartoonnetwork.com- : What a godsend this station is! I got to see the episodes of Sailor Moon that were originally dubbed for Canadians only, and finally giot to see the anime of Inuyasha, as well as see all sorts of old friends (Thundercats, He-Man, etc)! I love how they mix characters from dif shows for commercials and Harvey Birdman! Adult Swim Rocks! It's almost the only station I watch now, besides Sci Fi, CW, and ABC Family!...
Brooklyn Grit: A "Gargoyles" fan page about my fave character... Gargoyles has to be one of my all-time fav shows, and my PARENTS loved it too! I would record eps in the day & we'd watch them while eating dinner...
The Ultimate G.I.Joe Cartoon Website: A fan site, but a very thorough one. Snake Eyes, Timber (of course), Scarlet, & Shipwreck were my faves...I've covered this topic for my column, Tart Time Machine...
He-Man.Org: An incredible fan site for all aspects of He-man, as well as She-ra. Teela was my fav from He-man. I liked the Adam from the newes series, too, much more than the original. It's too bad that the newest show got cancelled before they could ever get to She-ra. I loved She-ra, as well as Swift Wind, Sea Hawk, Hordak, & Catra. One of my best friends, Lynx, did a pic of Catra that got in the mag! ... I've covered this topic for my column, Tart Time Machine...
Jem Unlimited: a great reference fansite! I still have a tape with most of the songs, as well as most of the dolls ^_^...I've covered this topic for my column, Tart Time Machine...
Rainbow Land!: A fan site. All right, so it seems hokey now, but I loved it as a kid! Starlight was cool, I liked Patty O'Green, Stormy & Thunder too, & there was a doll named "Moonglow" I never saw as a character, but she looked cool. And I still have the x-mas album...
The Enchanted World of Rankin-Bass: The creators of all those great x-mas specials (Rudolph, The Life & Adventures of Santa Claus), The Thundercats, The Last Unicorn movie... I've covered this topic for my column, Tart Time Machine...
The Ultimate Thundercats Web Page: A great fan-site. I loved Wily-Kat-- he reminds me of Skywise from Elfquest. Who wouldn't love a show about cat-people?... I've covered this topic for my column, Tart Time Machine...
Teletran 1: A Transformer Wiki. Bumblebee, Rodimus, Cheetor, & Silverbolt are my faves. I love the original movie's soundtrack. Can't wait for the new live-action one! ... I've covered this topic for my column, Tart Time Machine...
Don't forget to check out my fansite on Extreme Ghostbusters, for more links on that toon!

Anime & Manga (Card-carrying otaku, that's me!)

Tokyopop: I've been reading them since they first started, and were publishing Mixxzine as "Mixx Media". Now they are the biggest manga publisher in the states, and bring us such greats as Sailor Moon, Chobits, MARS, and Love Hina.
ADV Films: Distributors of such fine anime as Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and Love Hina, and all around nice people!...
Newtype USA: an anime, manga, and japanese pop-culture magazine-- that yours truly just happens to have written for ^_~
Viz Communications, Inc: distributers of such fine anime and manga as Ranma 1/2, Inu-Yasha, Maison Ikkoku, and Revolutionary Girl Utena.
The Anime Turnpike: the place to look for anime and manga websites ...
Ranma 1/2 Perfect Edition: a great fansite. Ranma is one of my all-time fave stories, it's funny & sweet, and I'm a huge Ranma/Akane shipper. Really, wel-nigh anything form mangaka (artist) Rumiko Takahashi is fantastic, but this is her at her very best.
Nippori Station - Paradise Kiss: a truly, truly amazing fansite dedicate to the stylish manga, Paradise Kiss, about a girl who goes from being a goaless student to a high-end model. It's definitely not your mamma's shoujo!
SweetUsagi- Sailormoon: Another great fan site, IF you are already familiar with this shoujo (girl's story) about a bratty crybaby who becomes a celestial hero and learns the value of friends, based on the lovely manga by Naoko Tacheuchi. I love how this show has so much (unintentional) pagan symbolism ...
