Welcome to "Hey Ewe!", the Fanlistings.Org-approved fanlisiting for the "celtic rock group", Off Kilter!
I first saw the boys back in 1996, not long after their debut at the Canadian Pavillion in EPCOT Center (where you can still find them today!) My parents and I were blown away by their performance, a combination of rock and traditional old-world folk music, with a liberal helping of wit and silliness. We've made sure to see them every time we've visited EPCOT since (and since my folks work for The Mouse, that's pretty often!) The band is made up of: Jamie Holton, bagpiper, vocalist, whistler, band frontman, and Daytona native; Mark Weldon, bassist, vocalist, hailing from the Green Ilse (Ireland, not Greenland!); Randy Holbrook, lead guitarist, vocalist, and good ol' Kentucky boy; Tony Escapa, keyboardist and back-up vocalist from "the great Celtic nation of Puerto Rico"; and Scott Zymowksi, world traveller, on drums. The boyos grew so popular that the good people at Disney saw fit to build them their own permanent stage! Off Kilter (or "OK") has four albums to date (my fave is their third, "Celtic Armadillo"!) Besides their regular gig at EPCOT, they also play assorted concerts and festivals around the country. Normally I don't really like "live" music (most bands don't sound too good without being "cleaned up" by a studio), but these guys sound amazing (and they make it looks so easy!)
I had put up a page with a few photos with the band aaaages ago. One day a gal named Scully from the MSN group, The Off Kilter Fan Shrine", ran across it, and contacted me, asking me to join their club. I was thrilled to meet others who were as fanatical about the band as my parents and I are, and was inspired to make this site. (In the photo galleries, under Kilterpalooza, you'll see just how mad about the boyos we OK-Shriners can be!) My photos could only nominally capture the fun and funky spirit these guys play with, but if you have never seen them perform, I hope we can encourage you to give them a listen! And if you have, I hope they bring to mind your own fond OK memories. ...
