A quick note before you start reading... Most people seem to handle this issue ok, but others seem to have a problem with it. While Spike is dead, and therefore doesn't need to have a heartbeat or breath, in my story he DOES have BOTH when it SUITS him. I.E., he can breathe if he WANTS to, and his heart beats when he's excited. I mean, if, on the show, he can make love, I should think that means he CAN have circulation in reaction to stimulus... Anyway, so there's my explanation for that, I think it makes various parts more dramatic to have those organs function even if the don't NEED to. That being said...
